Conor McGregor Ringside
Conor McGregor supported ringside for the 35 second fight. Cheering for team-mate and current flag bearer for Irish MMA due to Conor’s inconsistency over the last 2 years.
Following the sensational performance in which he made easy work of his opponent, the headline act jumped the cage to celebrate with the former double UFC champion in home city Dublin.
A short-notice fight for opponent Roman Salazar meant he wasn't in the greatest shape, this showed as he was in and out of the ring within seconds. A flying knee straight out of the bell from James Gallagher, left Salazar scrambling to take him down but this backfired and got successfully turned into guillotine choke squeezed tight enough for Salazar to tap out. To award Gallagher his 10th professional win.
Speculation around a move to the UFC will arise where he can look to follow his mentor Conor McGregor's footsteps. Although he may need to become Bantamweight champion inside of Bellator’s cage, before getting that call from the UFC. After his third win on the bounce and generating incredibly electric support from the sold out 3Arena in Dublin he showed no resentment “I deserve this" as he looks to build of the win by becoming an even bigger MMA star in the coming years.
MVP Silenced Richard Kiely
A thrilling display from Michael venom page as he embarrassed Richard Kiely in enemy territory. With a clear hatred for each other before the fight it reached boiling point at the press conference in Dublin, when Page shoved Kiely across the stage in an attempt to get under his skin before there bout and were separated by several bodyguards.
An early night for MVP was capped by a flying knee that rocked Kiely to the floor and awarded Venom page a well deserved short fought victory inside round 1. However the rivalry didn’t stop there, taunts from Page carried on and referee had to split them up after the fight to contain the situation. Although MVP was not happy with how the referee handled the situation after revealing the referee called him “a piece of sh*t” for taunting his opponent after the victory, which the referee should have had no say in and stayed neutral, leading MVP to say ''Dan Miragliotta will never referee a fight of mine again.''
Headline At home?
During the Post fight interview Page stated he wanted a rematch Douglas Lima in his home city after being knocked out emphatically by him earlier on this year. Page would ideally like for this contest to take place at the SSE Wembley arena on November 23rd, with this fight as the headliner.
